Everything on social media and the internet has visuals. So how do you stand out from the crowd?

Join AAJA Los Angeles and Opodz for the Mobile Journalism Master Class with Maya Sugarman on June 28th to learn how to make a good picture with your smart phone.

You don’t need expensive equipment to capture the moment. In this hands-on workshop sponsored by KENU, you’ll learn simple steps to making better pictures on your mobile phone and which apps are best for photo editing.

Maya Sugarman is a visual journalist at KPCC, a National Public Radio affiliate for Los Angeles. Maya produces platform-specific visual content including motion graphics, videos and photos. She’s co-director of AAJA Voices, a training fellowship for minority student journalists. She’s been an adjunct instructor at the USC Annenberg School for Journalism and has worked at newspapers throughout Southern California. She studied art at UCLA.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors KENU for providing mobile telephone tripods and Spitz for their delicious visuals.
