AAJA Video Journalism Workshop

Join AAJA Los Angeles and Opodz for a Video Journalism Workshop with international freelancer Mariko Lochridge on September 22nd to learn how to pitch clients and support yourself as a video journalist. More info:

This curriculum is intended for those already working as or beginning their careers in freelance video journalism. Mariko will walk you through step by step on how to pitch, produce and publish breaking news and short docs for both editorial and corporate clients.

Event is free for AAJA members and $10 for non-members.


Mariko Lochridge is a Japanese/American videographer who recently moved to LA from Tokyo. She has worked all over Japan as well as in India, Kosovo, Panama, Colombia and the U.S. With five years of experience as a video journalist for Reuters Television in their Tokyo and LA bureaus, as well as freelancing for AJ+, Make Change, KCET and so on she has produced 100s of stories around the world.

Parking Info:

Opodz on-site parking lot is operated by Joe’s Parking (360 E. 2nd Street). They offer a $9 flat-rate during the day, which become $5 flat-rate after 4pm and on the weekends. Alternatively, the lot on 3rd/Central for a $5 flat-rate. It’s a short walk about two blocks down from Opodz. Street parking is available but limited, with meters active until 7pm or 8pm.
