Oh, the immortal words of Jay-Z...
I started my consulting business in 2013. Honestly, it was scary and exciting at the same time. Fortunately, I was able to build on the experience and relationships from working over 12 years in the same industry, many of which for the same company. In some ways, I've been building my business since I started working as an intern the summer after my sophomore year in college.
Although I decided to leave an admittedly well-paying job to start my own company, it probably wasn't the smartest decision. That being said, I wouldn't do it differently, in retrospect. But that might be my pride talking.
This year, I joined the board of the AIIM Greater Los Angeles chapter. Freelancing and the On-Demand/Gig Economy is a topic we really wanted to explore. So much so, we decided to host an event on it.
On Thursday, February 11, we are hosting a panel discussion in Downtown LA where we are going to have some great speakers talk about business development, personal branding, skills development, and many more topics. Our goal is to have a candid, exciting discussion where our attendees walk away with great tips on how they can build a better freelancing business.
